Engagement Days are an excellent opportunity for our Southern and Northern Contracts Teams to meet up, share new ideas, receive training, and engage with members of the wider CU Phosco team.
This year, the team focused primarily on promoting health and wellbeing within the workplace, with everyone taking an hour-long critical worker medical. The team also took an in-depth look at musculoskeletal injuries and how to prevent them, by inviting trained physiotherapists Louise and Alex from Physio42 along to chat to the team and advise.
Several working groups were held, involving all team members to develop and fine tune a new floodlight aiming procedure under the guidance of CU Phosco Civil Engineer, Laszlo Birkas, which they hope to implement not only internally, but internationally for other contractors who are installing CU Phosco products overseas.
Throughout the Engagement Days, training and refresher courses were conducted by members of the Contract Services management team, together they covered lifting operations, high mast maintenance, and other health and safety topics.
Representatives of Milwaukee Tools UK, Joel and Pedro also visited the team, to showcase their new range of tools, whilst also offering innovative ideas to the team in order for them to get the best out of the tools they’re already using.
To round off the Engagement Days, the team finished with a light-hearted fun activity, and a well-earned meal out in Richmond as a team – because it’s not all about hard work!
Bob Gaskell, Contract Services Director commented: “A huge thank you to everyone who wholeheartedly participated in this year’s annual Engagement Days, it’s fantastic to see the teams roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.
I’d also like to pass on a special thanks to Physio42 and Milwaukee Tools for taking the time to work with our employees.
This years Engagement Days were the best we’ve had since their inauguration five years ago, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our Contracts Services Management Team. We can’t wait for next years.”
