CU Phosco, an ISO45001 Occupational Health and Safety certified employer and renowned leader in the lighting manufacturing industry, is proud to announce a new state-of-the-art paint booth at its Coleford Factory.
Dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of excellence, CU Phosco's Coleford Factory has installed an advanced retractable paint booth, partnering with Masterflo, a British specialist spray booth manufacturer with over 25 years of experience.
The bespoke paint booth is part of ongoing improvements to workforce health and safety infrastructure, designed to increase productivity and elevate the quality of their paint finish to unprecedented levels.
Philip Marques, Operations Director, Coleford commented: "We are absolutely thrilled to introduce this state-of-the-art paint booth at our Coleford Factory. At CU Phosco, our commitment to quality and innovation has been the cornerstone of our success for almost a century. 2023 marks our centenary, a testament to our ability to adapt and embrace new technologies that continually enhance our product offering and maintain our position as a market leader. This paint booth is a game-changer that will not only elevate the quality of our products but also significantly increase our production capacity, allowing us to better serve our clients while setting even higher standards for quality and safety in our industry."
The Coleford paint booth is a game-changer for CU Phosco for several compelling reasons:
Superior quality control: The booth has been meticulously engineered to ensure precise and consistent paint application. This advanced technology significantly enhances quality control measures, allowing CU Phosco to consistently produce flawless finished products that exceed industry standards.
Clean environment: The paint booth provides a controlled environment, shielding the work area from dust and particles that can compromise the quality of painted columns which can then impact lifetime.
Efficiency and speed: With the capability to simultaneously paint two sets of columns in different colours, the Coleford paint booth eliminates the need to wait for drying times between coats. This efficiency not only accelerates production but also ensures consistent, high-quality finishes without any risk of overspray.
Elimination of manual handling: The retractable design of the booth enhances operational safety by facilitating easy access for lifting and moving columns, reducing the risks associated with manual handling.
Key technical features of Coleford’s paint booth:
Offering a spacious work area measuring 2400mm in height, 26350mm in length, and 7000mm in width, the Coleford booth can be retracted to 3140mm in length at the extraction end and 2800mm at the inlet end, complete with access doors in the middle of both sides, allowing for flexibility in production.
The booth maintains a constant airflow of 0.7m/sec through the booth face, in accordance with HSG140 guidelines. Featuring two spark-proof 3.0kW 3-phase belt-driven exhaust axial fans, with an extraction rate of 11.32m3/s. Inlet filters at one end of the booth completely replace the air every 60 seconds to ensure a dust-free and particle-free environment, designed to maximise paint quality and provide industry-leading finishes.
CU Phosco's investment in the Coleford paint booth reflects its unwavering commitment to delivering lighting solutions of the highest quality. With this cutting-edge technology, the company is poised to set new industry benchmarks for quality control and finished product excellence.
