In order to confirm our commitment to the high level of health and safety values within our business, we have implemented the occupational health and safety standard 45001.
The standard sets a level of excellence that is acknowledged worldwide and will help to set us apart from our competitors. It demonstrates that we strive for continuous improvement of our employees’ morale, safety and performance.
All of the companies departments have collaborated to create our procedures, which are built around best practice. These have been rolled out across the company and set the standard for managing risks and gives a consistent approach throughout the business.
Our aim is to improve individual safety and wellbeing as well as that of the company, as ISO 45001 addresses the personal health and safety risks of all of our people, importantly, this relates both to their mental health and physical safety within our workplace.
ISO 45001 ensures responsibility and ownership lies firmly with our top-level management team, all of whom have fully bought into it and are committed to the process of continual improvement. We are constantly looking at ways to prevent risks as opposed to reacting to them once they are detected.
We don’t see 45001 as “just another badge”, but as a system that will see our staff efficiency and morale improve, staff mental health improve, whilst workplace injuries or the risk of injury reduce. The focus is primarily on our peoples physical and mental well-being at work as opposed to the quality management of the workplace systems and tools/equipment that they use.
